The Trolly Stop Tampa Bay

TSTB is best described as a lofty, slackerish armchair approach to urbanism in Tampa, including parts of Tampa Bay. Despite a more radical, sometimes 'GenX-dim-to-hype take' on urbanism issues, TSTB has been involved in the professional design and built environment for two decades, including activism and public service. We also love urban history, including local and national politics tied to urbanism and transportation. As a disclaimer, we have no expectations. Our take isn't for legal or professional use, nor reflects on our careers or previous positions we professionally held. We simply care more about urbanism in Tampa Bay than what people care about us. Feel free to chip in tips or $ for our news sources and research efforts. Enjoy the show.

Welcome!

We are glad you have stopped by. While we get familiarized with running our blog, we will be back-posting some topics so you can get a flavor of what we are about. We encourage your feedback on any issues dipped in transportation, urban planning, and history. We are cool with hyperfocused things like a cool bicycle lift or even new marketing colors or logos from transit agencies.

Have you noticed an awkward or cool development in the area? Are you upset about potholes or cars backing up the road trying to get into a Chic-fil-A chicane? Or, are you a researcher or student pushing a white paper on transportation or planning? Drop us a tip and we will dig into it more. You can remain anonymous or not.

We have no idea where this blog will take us. It could miserably fail and become a mundane task. Or, it can be a blast. Without a doubt, we care about talking and joking about our built environment. We also know, through years of advocacy, attending numerous government board meetings, and talking to politicians that we still have a lot of learning to do. We hope to at least identify good or bad decisions with our content to spur some critical thinking.

Eventually, if things roll well with you, a donation is always the best way to say, “Thanks!” Donations will help maintain and boost this site while helping to pull the best journalism from subscribed news sources. Also, we will not always rely on news sources but spend several hours pouring through public records, public surveys, economic and feasibility reports, meeting minutes, or agendas to find interesting urban and transportation developments in the area. This all takes a lot of time. Having more resources dedicated to those efforts will speed things up and help us find very unique content.

We always appreciate your support!!
